BNP Paribas Real Estate has unified its Asian operations around a newly established representative office in Hong Kong.
Leading the new structure and the Hong Kong office for the real estate services company, will be Yo-Hann Tan, who has been named CEO of BNP Paribas Asia Pacific.
Tan had joined the property brokerage arm of BNP Paribas as Managing Director for South Asia in 2013, with the company then operating a separate division out of Hong Kong to cover northern Asia.
Tan was named Head of Asia-Pacific for the real estate group in 2014, before receiving the CEO title this week. As part of the transition Tan has shifted from BNP Paribas Real Estate’s office in Singapore to move to the busy Hong Kong branch where he will look to help Asian investors secure deals in European property markets.
“Year to date, the Hong Kong office has closed some €733 million ($800 million) of transactions in France, Germany and the UK and have various ongoing sale/buy side mandates and consultancy projects that we expect to close in the coming months,” Etienne Prongué, Head of International Investment Group of BNP Paribas Real Estate, said.
Tan is responsible for all of BNP Paribas Real Estate’s business activities and operations in the Asia-Pacific region, which includes Japan. He has accumulated more than 22 years of experience in real estate and corporate and financial advisory including a five-year stint at Aareal Bank Group AG where he served as Managing Director.
